Questions and answers about the synod's new disaster response trailer:

Who may use the trailer?

  • Individual congregations of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod
  • Mission district and cluster groups
  • Lutheran Men in Mission groups

What is in the trailer?

  • Power tools, saws, drills, chain saw, nail guns
  • Hand tools, drywall and painting tools, demolition tools, nails, bolts and screws
  • Plumbing and electrical tools and supplies
  • Shovels, rakes, brooms
  • Safety equipment, gloves, masks, plastic sheeting

Where can the trailer be used?

  • Disaster Response mission trips to areas affected by tornados, hurricanes, floods, and the like
  • Local disasters
  • Habitat for Humanity projects
  • Other needs as they arise

What cost is involved?

  • Groups who use the trailer will be asked to cover the cost of restocking the trailer for materials and supplies used
  • Groups and individuals may also make a donation to the trailer fund for replacement and purchase of tools and supplies and for maintenance of the trailer

Who owns the trailer?

  • The trailer is owned and insured by the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA

How can I help?

  • Join the Response Trailer Task Force
  • Schedule a date to use the trailer
  • Make a donation to the Trailer Fund for upkeep or the purchase of equipment
  • Donate tools or supplies
