Information about Matching Fund Grants

The Leadership Development Ministry Team offers a matching fund grant to rostered leaders of up to $250 for continuing education.

Grants are completed for the 2005 fiscal year (February 1 to January 31) but are being accepted for 2006.

Guidelines for Review of Grant Applications

All grant requests must be received 120 days prior to the beginning of the event for which funding is requested.
Grants are available to rostered leaders or full time professional leaders who are serving ELCA congregations, institutions, or agencies.
Grants are available for the cost of registration and related educational materials. Grants are not available for the cost of meals, housing or transportation.
Grant preference is given to attendance at synod and ELCA sponsored events.
Grant preference is given to the first request made for a particular leadership development event.
Grants are not available for pre-retirement or first-call theological seminars.
Grants are awarded once per person per calendar year.
All grant decisions will be made in the best interest of the Leadership Development Ministry Team and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod.
