Ministry Teams

Guiding the work of the synod are the vision statement and four priorities adopted by the synod assembly in 2000, and the new structure related to the vision statement adopted by the 2001 synod assembly.

Four ministry teams form the core of the structure. These teams address the goals related to each of the priorities.

In addition, other groups, task forces, committees, and organizational units are formed as needed to provide for other ministry functions of the synod.

The four teams correspond to the priorities and work to help the synod achieve outcomes for each priority.

The four ministry teams are—

Synod Vision

As God’s people, we are rooted, connected, sent, and transformed. [Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod vision adopted by the synod assembly June 3, 2000]

In faithful response to God’s action in our lives and the call to respond to the issues that confront us, we are committed to [these priorities]—

  • Deepening our relationship with God [Worship and Spirituality]
  • Renewing our passion for sharing the good news [Witness and Service]
  • Strengthening the connections among people and communities [Connection Building]
  • Developing leaders for a new church in a new world [Leadership Development]
