The Eighteenth Annual Synod Assembly of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod, ELCA, was held June 10-11, 2005, at the Sovereign Performing Arts Center, Reading, PA.

Schedule Overview

Friday, June 10
Registration began at 9:00 a.m., followed by forums from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and 10:45-11:45 a.m.
The official opening of the assembly took place at 1:00 p.m. in the Sovereign Performing Arts Center. Bishop Margaret Payne, New England Synod, addressed the assembly as the ELCA representative. 
Bringing greetings were the Rev. Alan Eldrid, pastor president of the United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Argentina and Uruguay, and the Rev. Leon Novak, Pastor of the Lutheran Parish in Murska Sobota, Slovenia, representing the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Slovenia
An International Festival took place over the dinner hour, from 4-7 p.m. 
The evening session addressed issues related to the ELCA Sexuality Study.

Saturday, June 11
The assembly resumed at 8:30 a.m. in the Sovereign Performing Arts Center.
At 10:45 a.m., there was a festive Service of Holy Communion, open to all.
Lunch at 12:15 p.m. was followed by the final plenary session.
The assembly concluded at 4:00 p.m.
